UMNO should not apologetic

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 October - Deputy President of UMNO, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stressed that the party should not apologetic when defending the rights and interests of the Malays and natives.

This when opening the simultaneous expression of Representatives Conference for Women, Youth and Putera UMNO 2010 here this evening, he said, history has witnessed the UMNO led, not only the Malays but all ethnic Grace stand to benefit.

In a speech entitled 'Portrait of Struggle, Filling Hope', he cautioned that race-based politics practiced by UMNO is not a form of racism or racist politics.

In this regard, he pointed out that the party that claims are not based on race, can be very racist when it is unjust to other races.

Apologetic''We do not need to maintain the identity of the Malay race, are proud to be a Malay, Malay uphold the etiquette and ethics, defending the Malay cultural heritage as long as we do justice to all.

''In fact, throughout the history of the struggle of UMNO, the Malay party's magic was never a party that is racist. Racist political means only the best interests of our own people and oppress other races,''he said.
